  French Schools in Paris

Called "the City of Lights," Paris is truly one of the world's most beautiful cities. This capital city is made up of 20 districts or "arrondissements". Each arrondissement has its own character and meaning for Parisians and offers an array of cathedrals, palaces, parks and gardens. The streets of Paris are filled with scores of famous monuments and landmarks: the Eiffel Tower, Nôtre Dame, the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Ste-Chapelle, the Conciergerie and the Hotel des Invalides to name but a few. The art, music, theatre, fashion, literature, and architecture of Paris make it a mecca for language travellers from all over the world.

The French revolution ensured the development of a certain spirit of thought, a particular Western mentality, that would never be oppressed. It has also paved the way for an inventive and creative spirit in the arts, architecture, literature, and music which enhanced the development of science and technology of the future. This is proudly remembered and alluded to by contemporary French people.

Even a few years back, on the 200th anniversary of the revolution, the city presented more breath-taking monuments to modern architecture, which rival any in Europe. However, in Paris it is never quiet: theatre and ballet have sent a message out to the whole world that there is a bonafide contemporary scene in Paris. And anyone who would like to view a sample of paintings and art history should visit the Louvre, even if there are many other smaller galleries and bigger museums in the city.

Situated near Père-Lachaise cemetery, 20 minutes from the Opéra, the Champs Elysées and the Latin Quarter, our school is housed in a large old Parisian house with 4 floors of calm, studious rooms. In summer have a coffee in our shady, charming inner courtyard where you can also relax by playing table tennis.
